Digitization, Integration & Leveraging AI for enhanced Process Safety Management

This paper explores the digitization and integration of various process safety studies, from the concept and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) stages through to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), and extending into operation and maintenance. A key focus is on centralizing all study data, documents and workflow onto a single risk assessment platform. The concept further extends to applying artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) techniques to enhance Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies. This approach aims to streamline HAZOP processes, accelerate HAZOP analysis sessions, and improve risk assessment consistency in process plants with similar design.
